|---|---|---|---|
| VERIFIED | G20-01 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:17 (with Rashi; Bereshit Rabbah 34) | הוצא — the WRITTEN form (ktiv) of the exit-command for the animals: SNAPSHOT stores the written skeleton as its own bare token — the instrument encodes the written/read (ktiv/qere) pair natively, two tokens side by side. letters=הוצא vs הוצא |
| VERIFIED | G20-02 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:17 (Bereshit Rabbah 34) | היצא — the READ form (qere) beside it, pointed: Bereshit Rabbah's teaching rides the difference ("COMPEL them to come out — for all the ark-months mating was forbidden"; Rashi carries it). SNAPSHOT: the pointed read-token locked. letters=היצא vs היצא |
| VERIFIED | G20-03 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:17 | מכל בשר ("of all flesh") — the bet carries a dagesh (doubling dot). SNAPSHOT agrees. he=ָׂ֗ר |
| VERIFIED | G20-04 | Minchat Shai on Gen 7:2 (Ramah) — banked at gen_17 | DISCREPANCY OBSERVATION (banked from the gen_17 audit): הטהורה ("the pure one") at the ALTAR verse — mid-verse, outside the Ramah's rule that only the two verse-initial tokens (7:2, 7:8) are plene. SNAPSHOT writes it PLENE — a third full spelling the rule excludes; the letter locked, the deviation recorded. letters=הטהורה vs הטהורה |
| VERIFIED | G20-05 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:20 (Hilleli dispute; Ramah) | DISCREPANCY OBSERVATION — ומכל העוף הטהור ("and of every pure bird"): the Hilleli codex records a dispute on this very word; the Ramah rules PLENE ("and every Torah token of this phrasing plene, except five defective ones listed elsewhere"). SNAPSHOT writes it DEFECTIVE (הטהר) — against the Ramah's ruling: the mirror-image of G20-04 in the same verse — plene where he rules defective, defective where he rules plene. Both letters locked. letters=הטהר vs הטהר |
| VERIFIED | G20-06 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:20 (Hilleli; Ramah; Zohar named) | עלת ("burnt-offerings") — doubly defective (no vav in either slot), as the Hilleli copy and the Ramah rule: "and all Torah offering-language likewise doubly defective, except one." SNAPSHOT: the three-letter token locked at the first altar. letters=עלת vs עלת |
| VERIFIED | G20-07 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:20 (Ramah's exception rule) | DISCREPANCY OBSERVATION — the Ramah's exception: exactly ONE offering-word in the Torah plene in its first slot — "build the altar of whole stones... and offer עולת" (Deut 27:6). SNAPSHOT holds TWO first-slot plene tokens: Deut 27:6 AND Num 28:24 (the daily offering of the festival week) — one more than the Ramah's count; the census locked, the surplus recorded. full=['Deut 27:6', 'Num 28:24'] of 31 tokens |
| VERIFIED | G20-08 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:21 (all books vs Hilleli) | וירח ("and He smelled") — "in all the books the yod with QAMATZ" (long a-vowel); the Hilleli margin records all-patach. SNAPSHOT: qamatz — the majority reading. he=֣רַח |
| VERIFIED | G20-09 | Kitzur Baal HaTurim on Gen 8:21 (Masorah) | וירח — the Masorah pair, both in the Torah: God smells the pleasing scent (8:21) and Isaac SMELLS THE GARMENTS (27:27) — the Kitzur: read not בגדיו ("his garments") but בוגדיו ("his rebels"): "even the rebels of Israel will one day give fragrance." SNAPSHOT: exactly two tokens. count=2 refs=['Gen 27:27', 'Gen 8:21'] |
| VERIFIED | G20-10 | Minchat Shai on Gen 8:21 (Bereshit Rabbah 34, R. Yudan); Kitzur (Masorah trio) | מנעריו ("from his youth") — written DEFECTIVE, and R. Yudan's teaching rides the missing letter: "from the hour he STIRS (נעור) to leave his mother's womb." The Kitzur's trio spans out: "a man of war from his youth" (I Sam 17:33), "Moab settled from his youth" (Jer 48:11) — the fight with the inclination begins at birth; win it and rest like Moab on the lees. SNAPSHOT: the defective spelling locked; the trio's other legs are inheritance edges. letters=מנעריו vs מנעריו |
| VERIFIED | G20-11 | Kitzur Baal HaTurim on Gen 8:22 (Masorah) | וקציר ("and harvest") — the Masorah pair, both in the Torah: the covenant of seasons (8:22) and Joseph's famine-forecast "neither plowing NOR HARVEST" (45:6): the promised rhythm and its recorded suspension. SNAPSHOT: exactly two tokens. count=2 refs=['Gen 45:6', 'Gen 8:22'] |
FOLDED INTO THE UNIT same day (one source of truth). Block 4 of the second five-block run. Zero web fetches (full bank from the Gen 8 chapter query). Manifest: logic/oral_audit/manifests/gen_20_exit_altar_claims.json — 11 VERIFIED · 0 FAILED · 0 UNCHECKABLE, with THREE discrepancy observations — the altar verse (8:20) alone carries a double spelling-crossover against the Ramah. INSTRUMENT DISCOVERY: SNAPSHOT encodes ktiv/qere (written-form vs read-form) as TWO SEPARATE TOKENS.
Sources (banked): Minchat Shai on Gen 8:17-22 (8 notes) · Kitzur Baal HaTurim 8:21-22 (3 notes) · span map (Bereshit Rabbah 34).
CROWNS (chain-attested + DB-verified)
- G20-01/02 the written and the read, both instrumented: the exit-command for the animals — הוצא WRITTEN (ktiv), היצא READ (qere): SNAPSHOT stores the bare written skeleton and the pointed read-form as adjacent tokens, and Bereshit Rabbah's teaching rides the difference ("COMPEL them out — for all the ark-months mating was forbidden"). Both tokens locked — the program's first fully-instrumented written/read pair.
- G20-06 עלת ("burnt-offerings," 8:20) — doubly defective at the first altar, per the Hilleli and the Ramah's Torah-wide offering-rule.
- G20-08 וירח ("and He smelled") — yod with qamatz per "all the books" (the Hilleli margin's rival all-patach — the short a-vowel — recorded); SNAPSHOT: the majority reading.
- G20-09 the two smellings: וירח — exactly two Torah tokens: God smells the pleasing scent (8:21) and Isaac smells the garments (27:27) — the Kitzur: "read not his GARMENTS (בגדיו) but בוגדיו ("his rebels"): even the rebels of Israel will one day give fragrance."
- G20-10 evil from the stirring: מנעריו ("from his youth") — defective, and R. Yudan's teaching rides the missing letter: "from the hour he STIRS to leave his mother's womb" (Bereshit Rabbah 34). The Kitzur's trio runs to David's "man of war from his youth" (I Sam 17:33) and Moab settled on its lees (Jer 48:11) — inheritance edges.
- G20-11 the two harvests: וקציר — the covenant of seasons (8:22) and Joseph's "neither plowing nor harvest" (45:6): the promised rhythm and its recorded suspension, the word's only two tokens.
- G20-03 the flesh-word's bet dagesh (8:17) as ruled.
DISCREPANCIES (three — the block's headline)
- G20-04 הטהורה at the altar verse (8:20) — PLENE, mid-verse, outside the Ramah's two-verse-initial rule (banked from gen_17; now filed at its anchor).
- G20-05 ומכל העוף הטהור ("every pure bird," same verse) — the Hilleli records a dispute; the Ramah rules PLENE; SNAPSHOT writes DEFECTIVE. The same verse crosses the Ramah's rules in BOTH directions — plene where he says defective, defective where he says plene.
- G20-07 the Ramah's one-exception rule (עולת plene only at Deut 27:6): SNAPSHOT holds a SECOND first-slot plene at Num 28:24 — the census locked, the surplus recorded.
INHERITANCE EDGES (attested; Torah side verified)
- Gen 8:15 → Isaiah 11:6 — the exit-command's species-list linked to the wolf-with-lamb peace roster: edge attested; inheritor wording pending.
- Gen 8:21 → I Samuel 26:19 — the pleasing scent linked to David's "may my offering be smelled": edge attested; pending.
- G20-10's youth-trio (I Sam 17:33, Jer 48:11) rides as a verified claim.
READINGS FILED (named-only, unclaimed)
ויבן read as "he UNDERSTOOD" — why did God multiply the pure? to offer from them (Bereshit Rabbah 34 / Shemot Rabbah 50 via Minchat Shai 8:20 — the read-tradition's wordplay on the build-verb, with its own rule "there is a mother-text to the tradition") · the scent of the Garden entered with the smelled offering (Kitzur 8:21) · the disagreements between the Hilleli codex and the printed Masorah (received-tradition) notes that Minchat Shai adjudicates across this span, recorded inside the claim rows.
TIMING + PROCESS NOTES
BLOCK CYCLE — 3 minutes 35 seconds (13:48:42-13:52:17). One verifier iteration (the yod-dagesh-qamatz codepoint order — occurrence #4; this trap is now the process's most reliable single failure mode and the scripted fix is routine). INSTRUMENT DISCOVERY recorded: ktiv/qere pairs are dual-token encoded (bare written token + pointed read token) — this affects verse word-counts wherever a pair occurs (8:17 counts 22 tokens), and it makes the written/read layer CHECKABLE corpus-wide: a future census of all ktiv/qere sites is one query away. The altar verse's double crossover (G20-04/05) is the program's strongest evidence that SNAPSHOT and the Ramah descend from genuinely different spelling traditions at specific sites — not random noise: three of the block's discrepancies cluster on ONE verse about the offering.
